1.1 Skilled Visas – Point based on occupations on the Skilled Occupation List
There are a few different Skilled visas for Australia. To be eligible for a Skilled visa you must first have an occupation you are qualified in on the Skilled occupation list and obtain a positive skills assessment for this visa. This is a points-based visa that needs an expression of interest to be invited for the visa. You must be aged under 45 when invited to apply for this visa.

1.2. Skilled Visas – New Zealand Stream
This is for New Zealand Special Category (subclass 444) visa. The requirements for this visa are that the applicant :
- has usually resided in Australia for at least the last 5 years
- has started living in Australia on or before 19 February 2016
- in most cases, has a taxable income at or above a specific income threshold for each of the required income years prior to lodging an application.
